West Carroll Open Studios

This Sunday, October 12th, I'll be participating in the West Carroll Open Studios. It a Chicago Artists Month event and you can visit several floors of artist studios in this recently renovated industrial building in East Garfield Park. The space I'll be in is Annie Heckman's and other artists include Debra Gibson, Harold Mendez, Jason Meyer, Jeriah Hildwine, and Elise Goldstein.
I'll be showing brand spanking new work from my latest series, "Love Letters to Antarctica." StepSister Press will also be there with 4 of their titles, including "Submerged!"

We would all love to see you!!!

The Pinch is Out!!!!!

Two pieces of mine, Nestled and Brooding and Slainte, have been included in The Pinch. The Pinch is the literary journal of the University of Memphis, and completely great. I was excited enough just to see my own work on the big glossy pages, imagine my double excitement when I realized all of the work (writing and art) is great. The Pinch editors did a great job. Please go to the site and consider buying the issue. It feels good to support the arts. (I promise!)

The Pinch Literary Journal

I've been meaning to.....

...do this for a while now. I always think somewhere in this ramshackle head of mine I will be on top of my website enough to not need a blog. Being thoroughly mistaken on this, I have missed getting to tell people about many things, shows for one, but most importantly the publication of "Submerged: Tales from the Basin."

That fortunately you can read all about (and buy too!) from StepSister Press or Amazon. There has been so many good things to come out of Submerged's publication and a lot of fun. We've had a smattering of readings and StepSister Press was included in the Chicago Publisher's Gallery. You can read about all the good times on the StepSister Press Blog.

Back to my original sentiment about meaning to update my website constantly. Well, with the invention of the internet came the blog and I guess it's time for me to have one too. Stay tuned for all sorts of fun updates and exciting word misspellings...
